can u explain what is ACCA? If you degree is FA/FSC+2 years at least, and is offered by a recognised universite, an affiliated institute or a foreign university, then you are eligible.

take care

So far as i know ACCA is concerned with Oxford brookes university. It is taken as graduation in british countries. Incase of pakistan, It is not equal to graduation. I guess , U must acquire Equivalent Certificate.

Best of luck.........

Hi Anas! ACCA degree holder is not eligible for CSS as its not a bachelor or masters degree even in UK.Oxford brookes degree is recognised in western countries only.Pak HEC does not recognise it.So u should acquire bachelors degree first.u can do BA.Thats simple.I m also ACCA affiliate and now working in UK.i also wana do CSS and done BA for this .

R u not satisfied with your professional career?i think CSS is a passion.
GOOD LUCK!!:onesec

Dear anas, ACCA degree holder can appear in css exams, Completion of part 1 and 2 is equivalent to uk bachelors degree and completion of part 3 is equivalant to masters degree in uk.I qualified my acca degree in feb 2007 so this is upto date information. You need to contact ACCA and ask them for "equivalance letter" and explain to them wat actually you want. Its free.
After getting that letter i am quite confident you can appear in css exams, because FPSC does accept international graduation and masters degree.

Best Of Luck

If you can get an equivalence certificate stating that your degree is equivalent to the bachelor standard of pakistan , then you can appear for css examination. But they have their own procedure of making equivalence certification ,they deduct the marks .Make sure you have Second Class in order to be eligible for CSS examination.

Hope this helps

@ Anas; the ACCA, UK-a chartered body in UK- has been allowed by the HEC to launch B.Sc. (Hons) in Applied Accounting of Oxford Brookes University (OBU), UK through ACCA, UK-Pakistan Chapter w.e.f October 13, 2004.

Under the agreement, the ACCA, UK-Pakistan Chapter is to conduct B.Sc. (Hons.) Applied Accounting- a 3 years degree- initially through chartered universities/institutions. However, the approval is subjected to following conditionalities:

1. Candidates desirous of B.Sc. (Hons) in Accounting from Oxford Brookes University are required to possess intermediate/A-level or equivalent for registration with ACCA and Oxford Brookes University.
2. The examinations to be conducted by the ACCA Pakistan on behalf of ACCA, UK and Quality Assurance Agency will be monitored by the British Council.
3. For operation in the jurisdiction of provinces, the permission from concerned Provincial Education Department/s is pre-requisite
4. Equivalence/recognition to the degrees will be issued on individual merit on submission of relevant details on prescribed proforma (E-01) and copies of documents like i) matriculation/’O’ level and intermediate/’A’ level certificates; ii). Registration letter for B.Sc.(Hons) with OBU, UK; iii). UCRS Institute joining certificate; iv). UCRS institute leaving certificate; and v). student enrollment/record verification letters etc.

You must require an equivalence certificate from the Higher Education Commission.

Apart from other things, you may like to get some other degree from a good university.

@ fallbutrise: the third year is not equivalent to a Master's degree

@ greenhorn: so far as i m aware no equivalence granting body deduct marks

Thanx all folks! But from where can I get my equivalence certificate? I had done my O' levels then when I shift to Intermediate I had to get my equivalence certificate which I did from inter board at a cost of 10%, my percentage was reduced to 76 from 86%. Can anyone guide me in this?
Thanx in advance!
Cheers.

Equivalence of 'O' and 'A' levels is determined by Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC), Ministry of Education. Headquarter of IBCC is in the building of Federal Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education, Sector H-8, Islambabad, whereas equivalence of qualifications beyond 12-years schooling fall in the purview of the Higher Education Commission. The link of HEC procedure is given by sureshlasi.
