Hello friends,

I have a question that's been bothering me for a while now, it's about how much your subject selection matters in your group allocation.

I have done Masters in IT and I could easily choose Computer Science as an optional subject but if I want to aim at a particular group (Foreign Services), would it be wise of me to choose Computer Science as compared to International Relations?

Also, if I choose Computer Science instead of International Relations, will it affect negatively my chances of being selected in Foreign Services? And if it does, which group is the candidate with Computer Science allocated in generally (given that my priority will be the top three groups i.e. 1. Foreign Services 2. PAS and 3. PSP)?

Lastly, I wanted to ask if I chose International Relations instead of Computer Science, will I be asked about it in the interview given that my qualification is Master of Information Technology and NOT International Relations?

Currently I am thinking of choosing following subjects as optional subjects:

1. International Relations OR Computer Science
2. Governance & Public Policies
3. Gender Studies
4. Criminology
5. Sociology

Thanks a lot.

What I meant by this was that, will I be asked why I chose IR instead of Computer Science given my background is CS?
