Question Need guideline from seniors

I m working in government department in BS 16...havimg salary 45k... Bt i m on contract uptill now...i want to appear in PMS 2016.. It is difficult to prepare for it with job...so i wanna have leave without pay for two or three months..is this possible to have leave without pay on contract job??moreover if i avail 2 or 3 months leave without pay...shall i lose seniority as compared to my other batch fellows???please guide me in thia regard
