Advice needed on resources to use for CSS preparation in 4 months
Hello
I have made up my mind and have decided to take the plunge with CSS exams this coming February. With just about 4 months before the exams, I have opted for the following optional subjects: 1) International Relations 2) International Law 3) History of USA 4) Journalism and Mass Communication 5) Gender Studies I thoroughly searched the forum for the best resources I could use for optional and compulsory subjects but even with the ones I shortlisted, I wound up with a total of 14 books that I should have to go through besides go through the whole Dawn newspaper each day (especially the columns) and the editorials from The Washington Post, New York Times and The Guardian. Since time is short and I must study each and every topic area outlined in the syllabus, which resources (books/lectures/notes) specifically must I use in order to accomplish the COMPLETE preparation of compulsory and chosen optional subjects? I was hoping there was 1 concise book each for every single subject that contained all relevant information. I know that might not be possible in case of every subject but even if there are two, I was hoping I could get suggestions for those that weren't excessively fat and comprehensive. With that said, I would really appreciate if you guys could guide me with the absolutely necessary resources (with names and editions) I must use for complete preparation of each subject. The whole idea behind 1 book or 2 books that are not unnecessarily crammed with extra info is that I am able to finish the resources quickly and get to practice (given the short time). Your responses will really go a long way in helping me accomplish my long-time goal, so I would really appreciate you folks sparing the time and effort. Kind regards. PS: I will start taking regular classes in the National Officers Academy (NOA) Rawalpindi from 15th October as well (thought I should get all the professional help I can). |

Do they publish separate books for each subject? You sure that is a more sensible way of approaching it without missing any details/topics in the 4 months?

Thanks for your suggestion, friend. Have you personally used any of their books for CSS prep? Its just that im kind of unsure if one publisher is able to come out with quality and concise yet comprehensive books on all subjects.

if you are sincere to be successful then dont be afraid of hardworking and not try to find short cuts. these books just gives you the gist not a secured position. for 100 percent success you must study recommended books by FPSC
