The question whether to join academy or not is an individual own choice. Some people try to join academy at the end once they have studied everything thoroughly and they want to get grip on the subjects by giving mock tests. However, correct guidance is the key thing in CSS. You must go to any experience teacher or CSP officer for getting guidance regarding the subjects selection and attempting the exams.
As far as further study and time required for preparation is concerned, Mphil would never go wasted and will get you somewhere if not CSS and preparation time varies from person to person.

Thank you.
The thing is i dont know any experienced person from whom i can get guidance.
And other than that, will Mphill studies effect my CSS preparation?

Time management is the key thing in CSS preperation for which I am also struggling really hard. I am residing overseas but aspiring to become a CSP officer. One could imagine managing time for CSS preperation while living overseas given hard life and less resources for competitive exam. However, determinaton and hard would work would never go wasted. Therefore, I would suggest u to manage your time while doing Mphil and at the same time prioritize your weak areas. Best of luck.

Default Impact of optionals on the occupational groups

Hello there!

Does the selection of subjects affect the priority in occupational groups?
What occupational groups may i prioritize if I opt for the following:
1. Muslim Law (100)
2. Arabic (100)
3. English Literature (100)
4. Islamic History (100)
5. Political Science (200) [or IR (200), I'm a bit paranoid]

Kind Regards,
