Default Subject Selection
I am a CSS aspirant, currently in second year of my Bachelors of Accounting and Finance.
I want to select my optional subjects now. The combination I find suitable according to my interest is:
Accounting and Auditing as it is my major.
Business Administration as it goes with what I am studying.
History of Pakistan as I have huge interest in the subject and despite the low scoring trend, I am confident that I can do it but is this a naïve choice?
Gender Studies and Sociology. I have no previous background of both subjects and just choosing them because they seem over-lapping, easy, interesting and high-scoring.
Can you please comment or guide on the subjects combination. It would be great help. Thank you!

Consider changing sociology. It seems to have a volatile trend. If you are able to, choose Punjabi instead.

Thank you for the suggestion.

One more thing, can we give two papers for one subject? I was looking at optional subjects of CSPs and it looked like some attempted Psychology, Punjabi for 200-marks.

And what about the scoring trend of Business Adm?

Psychology, Punjabi were of 200 marks prior to syllabus change in 2016.
All other subjects you have opted are good scoring including Business ad which is highly scoring.

What should I opt for, in order to replace Sociology? Law subject (Preferably Mercantile), Statistics, Criminology or Persian. Please know that I don’t know Persian. Not even basic but I have huge interest.

Please suggest, keeping in mind, that I have three years before I appear for CSS.

Mercantile law isn't recommend and I am not sure about the scoring trend of other subjects. As for languages, according to new rules, you will have to attempt the whole paper writing in the same language as the one you chose. It will make Arabic and Persian particularly difficult to attempt. Not sure about the trend of statistics and criminology.

Not sure but I don't think its very scoring. You can check 2017 and 2016 DMC's to gauge the trend.
