Default Query about foreign service

I want to know about Foreign service of Pakistan for girls. Do many people make it their first preference?? If any girl is allocated in FSP then where is she posted? And the differences in their life in Pakistan and Abroad.
Which group is more suitable for girls???

Foreign Service FSP is one of the first three prestigious groups of CSS. After DMG and Police , it is the most sought after group.

Yes a good number of aspirants depending upon their interests and priorities opt for this group as their first choice. I was among those people. though I couldn't get allocated. However, afterwards I happened to serve in foreign office as an assistant for some 9 months and i observed this group from somewhere closer. And my charm of this group also got faded.

the girls are posted both at home in Islamabad as well as in our foreign embassies and high commissions abroad. Let me explain that embassies in commonwealth member countries like india , Uk , Australia are called High commission. As there is huge difference between the financial perks and privileges at home and in abroad , all the officers and even staff memebers are always praying for having posting abroad.

Life style is entirely different. Sometimes for married female officers it becomes an issue when their spouces are having job in pakistan and they have to get posted abroad. One of my friend is having this problem. He is scientist in forensic /science Agency Lahore and his wife has got Foreign Service.

DMG remains perhaps , the best group for females in my opinion.

Usually they are posted for a period of three years in a Mission. Our embassy or high commission abroad is called Mission in foreign office language. After that they return back and they and serve in foreign office Islamabad and start waiting and approaching for next posting.

The financial benefits are huge. While serving in Islamabad one recieves usual salary only and sometimes official residence or Foreign Office hostel stay. While on a mission not only you get official residence, but also standard education and health facilities for your kids and spouse in the educational institutes and hospitals of that country. The difference of salaray is also huge. An Assistant who receives 35, 000/- while in pakistan , obtains minimum 2, 00, 000/- Rupees while on a mission be that he in Colombo. From this you can guess the perks differences . I have seen FSP officers having bought their own vehicles and residences after their first posting abroad. They spend a sophisticated life . wherever , in the world they are posted , usually that's the capital of a country and embassy located in the safest place of that capital. The kids have good education and health facilities. however, when it comes to power and influence and nuisance value , FSP enjoy no that powers which are enjoyed by Police and PAS . After five to six years of service , i have seen FSP officers started regretting their decision as their financial position is sound then and they feel for having power and influence.

All the first three groups of CSS are highly prestigious. PAS , POLICE and FSP. However , in terms of nuisance value , the first two clearly surpass the third one. Now what i believe is that POLICE group working is little hectic and more demanding as well as somewhat dangerous . Thats's why it is not that good for women. That's why the ladies prefer PAS.

It depends on number of seats . Every year number of total seats as well as seats for FSP are different . And Sindh Urban quota depends further on those . However , one needs to be among first 40 for securing FSP .
