A future in Civil Services

Hey everyone. Lately I've been really confused on whether I should opt for css or not. I'm currently doing Civil Engineering from NUST and I'm the son of a Colonel in the armed forces. Honestly speaking, my mother has always pushed me for career in FSP but lately, I've been reading that css officers are underpaid and all. Considering the fact that I already belong to a relatively high tier family, would you recommend a future in Civil Services?

Underpaid and all? NO.

They have Govt salaries of BS17 grade. Plus they have jobs security with yearly increments, bonuses, medical unlike even the most posh private sector jobs. Also, they have sarkari "tor tappa" and the lax 9-5 hours and 5/7 days a week work schedule. For the big 3 (PSP, DMG, FSP) they even have more facilities.

What private sector job pays a 22/23 year old Rs 120k+ salary? Not many and the ones that do are behind a rishwat/reference paywall. Such private jobs also treat you like a slave, forcing you to work 6/7 days a week and more than 12hrs a day.

There is no "HIGH TIER FAMILY" section in the CSS application form. Deciding to opt for CSS is YOUR choice. Weigh the realistic on the ground pros and cons and decide for yourself
