I was appointed at BPS-18 in a certain government department this year but AFTER giving the CSS-2020 written exam. Now that I have cleared the written and medical exam, and waiting for the psychological assessment, do I still need to supply the Departmental Permission Certificate?

My tips for essay are pretty much similar to many other posts here.. just keep one thing in mind, different types of essays require different approaches and structures. E.g. if an essay is something like "which is better A or B?" you have to pick a side and give arguments in favor of it. Maybe end the essay with a couple of cons but you have to choose a side.

Regarding the outline, I'm afraid I've forgotten most of it. But I attempted the one which said something like "Pakistan is ready for digitization, yes or no" (I'm heavily paraphrasing here). I gave arguments in favor of it and before the conclusion presented a few cons, my stance was pretty clear.

One last thing, make the outline as elaborate as possible with points and sub-points. Make sure each point and sub-point is descriptive as well. Spend time on the introduction, make it good. For the rest of the essay just follow the outline and then end with a nice conclusion.

Oh and don't worry about the word limit. I don't think my essay crossed 2000 words. Or even 1800. Just focus on completing the essay and not leaving anything.

Yes, you still required to produce Departmental Permission letter. two major reasons.
first is if in interview you shared your current job position than the next question will be regarding to NOC. One must have NOC.
second is, when Hopefully you got the appointment, CGA will not start the salary procedure until you have LPC from current DAO and submit your NOC.
