I 've heard that 120 out of 300 in GK papers is considered as pass even if the person could not get through one or two subjects properly, for example 30 in Pakistan Affairs and 30 in Current Affairs and 60 in Everyday science is considered as passed (30+30+60=120). I am not sure if its true, kindly verify this as this contradicts with "The candidate who fails to secure at least 40% marks in ny compulsory subject and 50% in aggregate is considered to have failed in the examination."

First you should estimate your time, I mean to say that how much time is left for your exam. After that make a time table for you and act on it regularly.
And then I would say that First you should see the past papers, and prepare from these papers it will help you a lot. That's all you have to do.

Amir Shafiqu: The passing percentage for compulsory subjects is 40 % and for optionals it is 33 %. Whereas 50 % agregate is required to clear the written portion of the examination.

Yes if a candidate secures more than 50 % agregate marks and have less than 33 % in any optional, he can be considered for interview. However, if a person have more than 50% agregate but fails in compulsory subject thn there is no chnce....

Shahan Ahmed, brother plz check relevant posts in the beginners guide.
