No

Assalam O Alaikum
Im sorry to say its Not.
ACCA is a diploma not a degree.
you should have a graduation from a recognized university.

Mangat had guided you well.. To add up, if you have completed ACCA after Intermediate thn you may like to write a disertation of Oxford Brookes university and get degree of B.Sc. (Accounting & Finance), which is equilent to a Bachelor degree from Pakistan. You may like to converse with the ACCA representatives and ask them you wana pursue for B.Sc. of Oxford Brookes University. that B.Sc. will make you eligible for CSS.

Yes, HEC recognizes ACCA. If one has completed his ACCA. he should apply for equivalence of degree, for this, one should submit metric/o-level certificate, Intermediate/A-level certificate and Registration letter for B.Sc.(Hons) with OBU, UK to HEC. Then HEC will issue Equivalence certificate for the degree.
then, one will be able to sit in CSS exam.

But ACCA can be done after matric also on maturity base, what then ?

Muhammad T S Awan Saturday, April 24, 2010 11:34 PM

HEC does not recognize simple ACCA.. it is not an academic degree but a professional qualification. However, if a person has qualified B.Sc. (Accounting) from Oxford Brookes University on the basis of ACCA then that B.Sc. is considered as equivalent to a bachelor degree, but in that case also the candidate must have taken admission in ACCA/B.Sc. on the basis of Intermediate, the ACCA/B.Sc. of OBU admission on the basis of matric is not at all considered equivalent to a bachelor degree.

HEC does not recognise ACCA as a degree same as it does not recognise CA (Pak).

Once you qualify part 2 of ACCA, you are eligible for getting BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes on the completion of a thesis (detils are given on ACCA website).

Once you get dgree from OBU, you will have to show your documents at HEC office (alongwith a copy of your thesis) with a payment of around Rs. 3,600.

You will get equivalence letter from HEC within 2 weeks recognising your BSc (Hons) degree equal to 3 years bachelor degree in Pakistan.

You are eligible to sit in CSS with it provided the rumour of increased educational requirement to 16 years proves false.

The requirement for ACCA is bachelors or 21 years. Though you can start it at 16 with O levels through CAT.

Even then you are eligible for BSc bcz it is granted on the bases that students' level of knowledge is at par with BSc after completing part 2 of ACCA.

Hope your queries are cleared.

Firstly the fee is Rs.3000/- and secondly brother Omer final certificate holders of ICAP and ICMAP are given equivalence to Masters degree i.e. 16-years schooling..

@ Tabassum

Dear, I paid Rs. 3,600 last year when I got this equivalence. So it was based on my experience. First I paid Rs 500 while filling the form and after that they asked for additional amount to provide equivalence letter.

Yes, CAs are awarded equivalence degree of Masters and they have to follow almost the same procedure as in BSc from OBU. My point was that CA itself is not recognised as a bachelor/master degree. One has to apply for equivalence. (This information is based on my discussion with my CA colleagues).

@ Omer
I know the requirements and everything, but didn't know about its equivalence thing.
Thanks
