Salaries for Civil officers are also going to get an increase sooner or later. And the perks are similar and in most cases more than those to an equivalent ranking officer of the army. You should consider other aspects like aptitude for this work if you want to evaluate the civil services over army.

well zaheer bro. i think u should keep going with army and stay with it ! i think army is equal to css in all aspects and the main point is what your aim or what u want to be ? so u should first think carefully about it because leaving army as a captain is not a good thing ! MAY ALLAH guide u!

@ Zaheer Ahmed Malik; dear brother I disagree... !! money is not everything. Army is a career service, but what is the surety that you would go beyond Major and even aftr that there is no surety that you would go beyond Lt.Col/Col.. and at being major you would be 2-i.c. or in upper ladder you would be maximum a c.o. commanding a battalion!!!.. there is great charm in that life but you would be required to toe the line and follow the orders, there are very very very rare chances that you could be involved in policy framing, you would be policy obeying.. yes sir and thats all !!!

while in css in groups other thn mentioned by you, there is good service like in ITG, CTG, PAAS, Military Land & Cantonment, postal, information or railway etc. those are not bad groups.. you know in military land group a cantt executive officer in B-18 use to have pricks and privialges of a brigadier.. ! is'nt it bad ?

and moreso you are inolved in policy making and you can try to do something for the nation...

choice is off course yours.. alternatively you can try to come through military quota and in that case you are given any group from DMG, PSP or FSP ... !!

Yes Malik saab, you should try for css because there are really very less prospects in ASC, though currently there are around 4-5 two to three star generals of ASC but even thn there are less prospects...

Best of luck
