25,000-30,000 inclusive of all allowances?

Omer Saturday, June 12, 2010 06:43 PM

yes, inclusive of all allowance. the basic salary of a grade 17 employee is nearly Rs 18,000.

jadoon khan Saturday, June 12, 2010 07:36 PM

Aasalamuliakum

Sorry to negate sir omer over here.plz yar if u dont have sufficient information,so dont mislead the juniors. As per govt of pakistan civil service rules a newly inducted officer in any cader of grade 17 officer gets 9850 basic salary and then if we add all required allowances so his/her salary reaches upto 18000 to 20,000 whereas csp gets just his starting basic salary during his ctp and stp.

No intention sir omer and no hurt and hrash feeling.

Regards

If u take the increment announced by govt in recent budget, u will come to this calculation.
Plus officers have different salary structure in different provinces too. Likein Balochistan, they r given additional allowances and air tickets, if they r from other provinces.

Question is wrong, it should have been asked like this:
How much a grade 17 bureaucrat does spend per month?

Muqeet Asim Sunday, June 13, 2010 08:07 AM

good reply fayaz sb.
i dunno why so many ppl r worried about their financial future in superior services.(as if there is a threat of starvation or what:laugh:)
come on ppl don't worry. if financial wisdom is a part of one's family values and one knows how to manage within the limits, it won't be a problem to do well with the standard salary one earns in the civil service.:D

remunerations for govt servants: BS-17

Dear members, being a govt servant of grade 17, I also want to give my input. Someone has rightly pointed out the basic salary which is till now Rs.9850. The increment which has been announced in recent budget will add Rs.6402 to the salary and collectively the salary will hover around 25,000 rupees inclusive of all allowances.
At AJ007:
Dear you might be earning 25+ atleast as you are working in a corporate firm with an engineering degree. But people who aspire to become CSPs, they should be well aware of the pay structure of govt beforehand as there is no comparison of public and private sector. But the honor and prestige that one enjoys in Govt service is never even in sight in private sector plus the social recognition which a govt servant enjoys in his social circle.

These words totally belonged to me and one may disagree :)

It also depends on length of service and other things like if you are in Fed. gov. and posted in a big city or if you are entitled to a special allowance. I am in BPS-17 and getting around Rs. fifty thousands P.M.
From 1st july, add twenty thousand in it and it comes to around seventy thousand P.M. :pipe
The reason is lot of annual increaments i had plus the house rent ceiling allowed if you have your own home. So, it varies from person to person and location to location and from depertment to depertment.

sir good for u coz i m also a permenant gov servent in bps - 17 serving in a remote area in education dept. and getting 14,000 aftr 1 increment. hopefully things wl be less grim after announced raise.

Sociologist PU Sunday, June 13, 2010 06:29 PM

@ Sassi

That is why i said lot of difference depending upon location, dept(fed, provincial, local), length of service and extra allowances (if applicable)
I would advice you to get posting in a big city and do M.Phil/P.hd in your subject and in the long run your pay will be handsome like me. Hahaha
Good Luck.

sassi sehar Monday, June 14, 2010 12:04 PM

ah! lucky u i m thinking abt transfer bt dont want to use safarish and widout safarish u know how difficult it is to get good postings. i was thinking abt a transfer from psc to fpsc in lecturership bt some1 told me that job i m doing is permenant and the fpsc ad is for contract basis so it would really be a demotion. other then that i had a horrible experience at this year's css exams. so really down and out. its not just that the pay is low the area is really far far away. hard times!

Sociologist PU Monday, June 14, 2010 05:14 PM

Well sassi,
You are fighting odds with courage. Remember "this time will also pass"
In the begining one has to face many difficulites. It is not a bed of roses as many young ppl. think. I used to travel all night to reach at my duty in the morning and saw many difficulit times but now i am well settled at the station of my choice but in the process lost many chances of studying abroad and promotion. So one has to lose something to find something.
Aur han summer vacation start honay wali hain, enjoy ur holidays, phir dekha jay ga. hahaha.

sassi sehar Tuesday, June 15, 2010 01:43 PM

yeah of course time wil pass and my job also has its advatages 1. i get to feel i m serving my own ppl and 2. lots of vacations esp in college sector i m on vacations since may coz the session ended and exams started. so its gud

Salam sir Muqeet Asim.

@ RAZ

Your question that how much a bureaucrat spends is irrelevant because if he is earning Rs.15000 per month in these testing time, then he can't support his family or spouse. If he is not going to earn Rs.60000-70000 how would he be able to make a good living.A bureaucrat who earns Rs.15000 per month is bound to get corrupt. For your kind information Rs.40000-50000 is a bachelor pay in these times of sky rocketing prices.Surely you are human and can't live on breathing air alone.I am going to be a bureaucrat and i want the basic salary of a bureaucrat not less than Rs.120,000.There can be no decent and austere spending without a handsome earning.
i dunno why so many ppl r worried about their financial future in superior services.(as if there is a threat of starvation or what)

Dear Muqeet Asim.I think that you are a billionaire. If so then you are right that you don't need to worry about your financial future.Billionaires like you or the sons of billionaires should pay the government instead of government paying them.
The pay scale of BPS-17 is not commensurate with the infaltionary trends in our fiscal system. Many of us are aware of the financial wisdom. But if you could kindly tell me,does any grain of financial wisdom exists in the higher echelons of bureaucracy or our educated parliament.i would be grateful to you. The meagre salary the so called Civil service offers will not enable you or me to buy even a donkey-cart or a slum house.

I belong to a humble background.i do believe in finacial wisdom.Rs.15000 can not enable you or me to manage a house or family.

Since corruption is the bread and butter of bureaucratic quarters, the government should place a bar that only billionaires would be allowed to contest CSS exams.

Shall wait for your worthy reply.

Regards,

Sikander

@ sikandar
partially agree with u.
but the thing is that this low pay structure does not provide the basis that csp officer start doing corruption.
i have done engineering and now working in a private firm where i am earning 40000 pm but there is sumwhere in my heart the ambition to go for a css. to me it is really a tough decision especially preparation of css where i have to study subjects which i have nt studied in my life. if i pass then interview, training and then again fpo exam.
by considering pay of 20000-25000 after so many hurdles is nt by any means a satisfactory. but what csp officer enjoys is power, fame and prestige.
it is for this people go for css.

Sociologist PU Wednesday, June 16, 2010 11:00 PM

Well, Job satisfaction is not related with the amount of pay one gets every month, although it is major factor.
I have seen ppl. who did not opt for higher grade and salary as they were satisfied with their current position and i have also known a number of CSS qualified persons who did not join the service and if joined quit it after some months or years as they were unstaisfied.
So, it depends upon the personality of the individual as what he want to get in life and how he perceive the world around him/her.

@007
Power, prestige and fame have no meanings for some people !

mr. ur thinking is flawed. "i ain't any billionaire"i belong to a middle class family and a backward area and i take pride in it that soon after my graduation, i ve been an independent person as far as matters of finance r concerned. i don't believe in worryign about anything, financial or whatever. there r things in life that we must take as they r. matters like ur family, place of birth, opportunities of education, leisure, and jobs etc can't always b according to ur wish. so my philosophy is that live according to ur means. yes i ve brilliant example to follow in this regard and that is of my beloved father. a self-made man with modest resources, he provided excellently for his family. i can't help but paying him homage of love and obedience when i think of how well he nurtured us in every dimension of life. so if u 've role models in front of u, its not a problem and the corruption is not a "necessary evil" at all.

yes agreed. it is so. but waht can be done???
will this whining do any good???
there r so many of my respected seniors who r doing quite well in such kind of circumstances. just look around u, u 'll find ample examples inshah Allah.
I belong to a humble background.i do believe in finacial wisdom.Rs.15000 can not enable you or me to manage a house or family.
at the early stage of career when u r earning this (yes) meager sum, u r hardly required to manage a huge family eg 3,4 beevian or 10 12 bache. u get this money during training as nothing but pocket money. so one can do well hopefully. with the passage of time, as ur responsiblities grow, ur salary and facilities also grow. hence its not a problem at all to live modestly in the pay structure of css.

i consider this statement nonsensical. corruption is never appreciated and isn't justified no matter what the circumstances. u only see what u want to see...
