Default Dual Nationality

The CSS Rules page says :
A candidate having dual Nationality must Surrender his/her Foreign Nationality and inform the Government before joining Civil Services Academy.

So once you've joined it and you decide to opt for another nationality, can you possibly do that?

Let me tell you;

You can apply for CSS having dual nationalilty.
You can appear in the exams having dual nationality.
You can appear in the interview(if you pass the exams) having dual nationality.

But once you are allocated to a group and you wish to join the academy, then this is something you would have to do being a Pakistani and Pakistani alone I mean this is the point where you have to give up your foreign nationality. So its quite a safe choice, I mean you can decide even at the 11th hour that whether you want to join academy or retain your nationality and leave the job offer

Wese btw I didn't actually get what you meant when you said;
So once you've joined it and you decide to opt for another nationality, can you possibly do that?

Because once you have joined it, at that point in time you have had given up your foreign nationality. How can you get it back??

Thanks, Amigo! that was a great help!

That's not fair... you can be a citizen of another country too. Well at least there is no restriction on obtaining a resident visa instead of a nationality.

lol. okay. I meant someone who wants to be a national of another country and is not one as yet. For instance, a woman who's in the civil service marries a national of another country and has a choice to change or add another nationality.
Do you understand what i meant now?

Yeah I got you this time and this is something I am also interested to know hehe

The rules say:

(ii) A candidate who has married a person who is not a citizen of
Pakistan shall not be eligible for appointment provided that a
person who marries a “foreign national of any country recognized
by Federal Government” with the prior permission of Government
may be regarded as eligible for appointment.

These are prior to examination but what about after joining the academy? I have no clue wait for kisi aur ka reply

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE
Actually I hold a resident visa which I believe you don't have to surrender. May be 'after' joining I can also get it converted into nationality

For your information, the government of Pakistan currently does not recognize several countries of the world including Israel, Republic of Armenia, Northern Cyprus, Republic of China (Taiwan), some African countries, Republic of Kosovo etc (you can do some research on that). The clause refers to the situation that if your spouse belongs to any of the countries not recognized by the federal government, you are not eligible for appointment in the federal government, but if your spouse belongs to any country recognized by the federal government (for example India ), you will need to seek permission from the federal government for appointment. Wallahu Aalamu bis sawab.
