why not? if the father is a gazetted officer, he can attest the documents of his children for sure.

i think yes, but it may create a doubt in the credibility of the documents of the applicant, so try to get your documents attested by some non relative officer....

there is nothing doubtful dear, obviously a gazetted officer is authorized to attest documents of any body.

Yes parents can attest photocopies of their child's documents unless not explicitly forbidden in the rules (i.e. the rules for submitting application must not mention photocopies should only be attested by notary or government officer of BS17 or higher not related to you). You can even attest them yourself by writing "This is true copy of the original" and signing your statement, something called self attesting , but it is better to go through rules or guidelines first.

Well, I've been using my fathers seal and signature to attest my documents up until now.
Amazing part, he got retired as a professor way back in 2003.
