CSS or Engineering

I am a final year student of Mechatronics Engineering here in Islamabad and I need expert opinion regarding this very tough choice that I have to make, and I think almost everybody, who opts for CSS, makes one like it that :
''Should I go for CSS or do my master's in Engineering ?" . I really have no idea and I am very confused and feel being torn between these two choices as I have interest and passion for both and both careers have there own pro's and con's. Kindly help
Regards

CSS offers a well structured career path but it requires a lot of effort. Moreover its a game of luck as well. one never knows after passing it whether one would be able to get allocation, whereas if one wants to do Masters then one may be able to get this degree.

Brother i have done Civil Engineering from UET Peshawar.... i love my field a lot, and i wanted to do MS in structural Engineering, but look what i decided? i just canceled my decision and started preparation for CSS... i know i have taken a very risky decision... but the thing is.... i am in love with CSS... it has become my dream... so for this reason i have sacrificed my MS... and yeah i can do it later... but CSS requires kind of age limit... and for masters there is no age limit..... brother i will just say.. that if u have the passion like me, then go for CSS.... if u don't have... then u can keep continue both.. i mean ur MS as well as CSS... as MS is not difficult, u will be having just 2 days classes in a week so u will be having time for CSS.... decide urself... we just work hard, Allah decides our destiny..... so just look for the passion inside u, whether its greater for CSS or for MS.... if equal then start both of them....

Just relax, do not be in a hurry.:) First focus on BE studies and complete it with good grades. And then start your masters right after the completion of BE. It is because you have enough time to be eligible for CSS (assuming that you never missed any year in your entire educational period). Even after completing you masters you will have all three chances for CSS exams. So first masters then CSS. The reason is very simple that once you absorb yourself in CSS studies fully you won't find interest in any other thing or degree; you will keep on deferring every other thing.:) Higher degree helps in improving maturity level and intellectual growth and with these; CSS would become easy for you. And if you are more passionate about CSS then prepare for its exams in parallel to your masters if you can manage, this way you will be able to kill two birds with one stone.

same situation went or you may say going with me... before two months when i am done with my thesis i was also spoiling in this zoon. being a CSP officer is very much classy plus it will award you a defined structured life but to continue with engineering....... i would say nothing is much passionate like this. being CSP you will only serve a particular class of group with certain boundries but being with engineering you are serving the science, the nature.
but i would suggest if you love playing games and taking risk in appropriate manner try once FPSC. may be luck showers on you.

Thank you all for your sharing and support. I am very glad to find people like you who are as willing to help and advice those who need it. As you come to think of it , it is not a simple debate, there are other complex issues involved. For instance , money is a matter of concern, well at least for me , as I will be the sole bread winner of a comparatively large family and there is no side business or property or anything like that to share my burden. If you think on monetary lines, Engineers do seem to have an edge over the CSS officers. Officers have a social status to maintain and support their families within their relatively low budget.

Man I would suggest you kindly not to put all of your eggs in one basket. In life dont ever rely only one single source that if you get fail in that you will b standing on cross roads.
In life always keeps backup so i would suggest you to go with both. CSS no doubt is a great career but Engineering too would bring comfort in your life.
So what you have to do is a little more hard work.
But never go with one single option.

I am a student of Mechanical Engineering from UET Lahore, this tug-of-war was also going in my mind. All my life i have been hearing these praising comments on css. well, its really difficult still to decide. but as i have been learning through all these years of my formal education. i believe that being a professional engineer (though i haven't yet completed my degree) the scope is high on both sides and both of them really have some discrete pros and cons of their own. but i have finally decided to go side by side with both, cause there is in fact no irrelevancy in any sort of knowledge that you attain, so someday you will be cashing your hardwork, i mean that extra hardwork you do by sort of floating in two boats, but still we can have a strong grip on applied mathematics and of-course an engineers beloved PHYSICS. so use it in your css exam.
And more over i want some suggestions on what is the scope of EUROPEAN HISTORY as a subject? REPLIES ARE NEEDED.
