Is this written on your transcript or degree that you have secured 72% marks or you yourself have calculated your percentage accordingly?

Here is the conversion rule as per set by HEC,hopefully it will work for you.
http://www.hec.gov.pk/INSIDEHEC/DIVI...sionofGPA.aspx
But most of the universities have their own criteria, but still having B grade means 1st division,so it would be better if you contact reslpective department for authentic information.

To calculate your CGPA based on the 8 semesters:
[(total grade point for semester 1) + (total grade point for semester 2)+ (till grade points of 8th semester] / total credit hours taken in all semesters

My university using this formula calculate cgpa but total cgpa is 5
My real question is according to HEC criteria should my gpa considered as 2nd division?

You should contact the registrar's office of your university in this regards. Every university has a different grading criteria (relative or absolute). You can ask them to furnish you a certificate mentioning the division. HEC only dictates on the conversion of % and CGPA.
