Is academy good for preparation?

I want to know if academy is helpful in preparation specially for beginners and for students who needs a push? What are the top academies in Islamabad and Lahore?..anyone who had attended the whole session of a academy and share their experience?..to be clear I am a type of person who needs to study from a teacher or guider

I personally believe that if you have any friend in civil service, a relative or any one who can guide you in right direction or If you could find a mentor, you need not to join any academy but if not, you should join academy because teachers in academies are css officers and they will better guide you about preparation strategy but finally you yourself have to work hard. I had the same question when I decided to do css and went I through the interviews of css position holders almost all have the opinion of not joining any academy in the case I have stated above.
