these two books should be enough for the international law paper and will also help u in scoring high marks......... best of luck |
Hello Shayan
Since I am studying International Law in the course of my LLB degree, I would like to recommend you some books that were in my opinion of credible value. 1) International Law by Malcolm N. Shaw - A concise book which is considered by most to be authority on international law 2) Textbook on International Law by Martin Dixon - A short but useful book 3) International Law by Antonio Cassese - A least orthodox book in style and approach but raises a lot of thereotical questions 4) Public International Law by A. Kaczorowska - The most legal book in style Besides these there are many others but the above ones I found to be very helpful. Try to get the latest editions of all the books I have mentioned. Particularly in law, latest editions of books matters to a very high degree. I hope this helps. Good Luck. Take care Awais |
can anyone who opted for international law in css and cleared it suggest me the best books for it?
well the books mentioned by janas are very good books. during my LLB i came across two books of international which i found very helpfull. 1; International law by The Jurist,....its very good small and easy book covering all the topics comprehensively. 2; International by mansoor publishers...i dnt remember the author name. these will help u more than enough. |
i can resist to answer as Int. law is my field of speciality
I am Advocate Mohsin Ehsan During my LL.M in Punjab University following were my subjects
Int. law and economics and Administrative law amongst many others. the thing i felt as int.law for css is that, do not use that sub standard guide named khuram qurashi, that usually law students study. Go for latest foreign books which are up to date i.e for theory PUBLIC INTERNATIONAL LAW By Timothy Hilear 1999 edition for case laws International law By Marten dixon these books are available in Punjab University law College library. One thing i should mention here that LAW OF SEAS is not usually taught in LL.B course of int. law. so i recommend all the students to study that portion. 90% objective is made out of it in css exam for int. law. plus give small examples of international events in your question. example: Topic ASYLUM ------> EXAMPLE IS, ON 28TH mARCH 1954 A CONVENTION ON TERRITORIAL ASYLUM WAS ADOPTED AT CARACAS. Topic Extradition----------> example, In the reign of Zia several Political workers of pakistan People Party settled in different countries of Europe. etc like that hope u got my point. |
How is H.O. Agarwal's book on Int.Law?
Dear Viceroy,
What is your opinion about H.O. Agarwal's book on Int.Law ??? Keeping in mind the scanty time left for prep, which topics would you suggest to be covered thoroughly and rest cursorily? |

Keeping in mind the scanty time left for prep, which topics would you suggest to be covered thoroughly and rest cursorily?
The book is okay, in fact I prepared from that book alone but that was because I could not find Starke's book in the market at that time. Back in the preparation days I made a list of topic that had appeared in the past 10 year papers. I am posting that list here, I hope it helps you to decide on important topics as I don't believe in selective study much.
