Css forum, its senior members and especially moderators have disappointed me because of their recent past contribution to this forum.

Here is what I've came to decide about the books that I'm going to go through for my CE-19 attempts. Sharing them here so that any new aspirant can consider them if the want.

1 : Essay and English (P&C)
(a) Exploring the world of English by Syed Saadat Ali Shah
(b) High School English grammar and composition by Wren and Martin.

2 : Islamic Studies
(a) Islamic Studies by Hafiz Karim Dad Chughtai

3 : Pakistan Affairs
(a)Pakistan Affairs By Ikram Rabbani
(b) Trek to Pakistan by Ahmad Saeed

4: History of USA
(a) People's history of United States by Howard Zinn
(b) History of United States of America by Majmudar
(c) Notes by Sir Naveed Bhutto

5 : Pushto
(a) Pohana by Sahar Gul Katozai.

These books are good enough to build strong foundation and definitely broaden study is always best.

I'm looking for the GSA, Political Science, Gender Studies and Governance and Public Policies now. Once I get good comprehensive recommend books for them, I will share them here.

There is no one book for GATE.

Having said that there are several books of different subjects that cover the topics very well.

But, remember, in exams like gate, more important thing is to know what to study and what not to study.

Therefore, first of all take a print out of syllabus & identify the topics. Then you can go for books.

Transportation: khanna and justo

Building Material :Rangwala

FM : rk bansal or Modi & seth

Soil: Arora or gopal ranjan & rao

SOM: b.c. punmia

RCC : B. C. Punmia

TOS : ramamrutham

EE : s k garg

Irrigation & hydrology : sk garg

Survey : B C punmia vol. 1& 2.

Still I'd suggest you to go through handwritten class notes of any reputed coaching ( IES master or MADE EASY) or ACE engg academy).

If you're having difficulty in understanding any particular topic then you can study that particular topic, from book.

Also, enroll in any test series for GATE and give it like real GATE exam.

Don't be disheartened if you're unable to perform well in test series. It is designed to find out any mistake in your preparation, so after each test try to analyse your mistakes and rectify them.

Hope this helps.

Thank you.

Hey! Couldn't help but notice you guys missed Pakistan Affairs by Syed Mohsin Raza. Good luck guys!

Here's a little tip that no one gives you, get a pot and put a peace lily plant in your study room and let in sunlight. both of these things give you a perfect atmosphere to study and ENVIRONMENT IS KEY WHILE STUDYING!

Hope it helped
