Have you read the FPSC's syllabus? It contains required and recommended books.

http://www.fpsc.gov.pk/sites/default...nd_onwards.pdf

Even the best of the books wont cover all the syllabus. My suggestion to you is not to fall in this trap of preparing through a book only. Read and analyze the syllabus of each subject alongwith its past papers. Prepare the topics of the syllabus instead of going after books. Use numerous available online text based and video based resources

Dear, I have read the syllabus many a time, but no one covers all the recommended books. And I try to form the base of a subject by reading easy books, parallely with videos. You come to the tech nical books after you have covered the syllabus. So no thanks for your suggestion as it does not provide me with what I desired.

He tried his best to help you. He replied with what he thought to be best in his opinion. Thought you are right that you asked for different kind of books ,but he replied with a better answer. And told you to prepare from books recommended by FPSC . Aspirants who study these books achieve higher scores. I have seen many people who got top positions saying this thing that they prepared from Fpsc recommended books and that they gave references from them. Paper checker wants you to give an answer which is taken from these books, this is why they are said to be recommended ones. Hope you understand and don't say degrading things because most of the people give a lot of time and effort here to help others.
In the same way one can say that you have posted in wrong section. Discussion section is supposed to be for disscussions on different topics. Your must post this type of queries in subject selection section.

For psychology, weyne weitin, Robert Feldman.
And, for philosophy go to website named muslimphilosohy.org. It has got a book named A history of Muslim Philosophy and it's free and legal to read that book from there. Muslim philosophy will cover half of your philosophy syllabus.

I said these derogatory terms in 'reply'. Now i have been helped. M A li chaudhri Bhai, thank you. You are a charming and soothing personality. Whatever I do, I have something in mind behind that deed. I know I would read the recommended ones but at the right time stipulated by me.

WS, welcome here
Download the syllabus from fpsc website and read the content of optional subjects. Choose subjects based on your academic record, interest and knowledge.
Then post your combination here for feedback.

Go through syllabus and past papers of Chemistry , Botany, zoology, psychology etc. I think you will find these subjects easy and maybe they are related to your studies.
Other than this you can go for general ones like gender studies , public administration, governance and public policies. It's upto you that which type of subjects you want in your combo. But at first search through forum. Know about each and every subject that you can opt ,read comments of aspirants and seniors and know about the available books etc. Then post your queries in the relevant sections regarding subjects that you want to opt. Hopefully other aspirants will answer and will help
