Replying late on it. Maybe it will help.

Current topics from newspapers, that's for current affairs paper. By mixing pakistan affairs and current affairs, aspirants will just do blunders in exams. As you can see this time lots of people failed in current affairs. Main reason was that they attempted it like pakistan affairs paper, with no references of newspapers, journals, magazines etc. So journals, they can work in pakistan affairs too and newspapers ,they can be of help too. But relying totally on newspapers, that's a big mistake.

Better to get some good books. For preparation trek to pakistan is good. And for post partition ,you will have to read some good quality books. Just relevant sections. Or just summaries of books. That will be a right way to do it. Yes you can read some good stuff on these post partition topics ,maybe any research article, any chapter of book. But relying totally on newspapers. Thats not good, it can only be helpful to give you contemporary understanding of topic but to analyze topics you need to read some good stuff.

Regards
