There are no hard and fast rules or books available to cover the Current Affairs Paper. You have to focus on your surroundings and the contemporary world for that “Har khabbar pe nazar rakho”. Sources should be news channels (Urdu or English), newspapers, digests, columns, internet, gossips, and discussion with friends.

Once you have mastered the contemporary issues then rest of the work is to be performed in the examination hall. No notes, only bullets and some short points will be suitable because we have to focus the other subjects as well.

As for as Magezines are concerned, Times weekly and Times monthly are best options.

Try Jahangir World Times
In addition newspapers are the best source.
If you want more, then you can participate in the discussions that take place at forum regarding different current national and international issues.

Contemporary affairs of Imtiaz Shahid is a good book.
Atleast you can develop some sort of idea from the articles written. I hope you would not be totally blank after you read an article.

I would suggest you to stick to some good English newspapers. Editorials and opinions are more important than the news. Make a habit of going through them on daily basis. It would not only help in current affairs but in whole of the CSS as a whole. Stay away from the talk shows on private tv channels. PTV world is the best option or I would say best out of the worst. You DO NOT need any book for current affairs. Also do not rely on exam cram kind of guides. Yes magazines like The Economists and Current Affairs are fruitful.

There are two useful methods to resolve the issue.
First is to read it online by following the link: http://jworldtimes.com/
Although, it is updated two months later of the original issue. But, now the efforts are being made to provide it as soon as possible.

Second is that you can Subscribe it Annually by contacting the Jworld Times. They will send you every issue by post every month.
I think, first method is better for you.
