Default Subject choice for Engineering

I've currently selected the following optionals,

1. Physics
2. Journalism & Mass Communication

For the rest, I was thinking of choosing IR+IL because it would decrease my subjects to study (total 4) and both have quite a lot of similar content. I have average knowledge about these subjects.

But I heard that IR is very average scoring and this time the paper is of 200 marks, so is it a good choice for a subject and can people score good in it?

Paper-I is pretty much theory so I think it's scorable? Is it so?
