Whether to opt International Relation or not? Plz help

I request all of you that please help me sort out my problem. I have already posted my query on some other area of the forum but I didn't get any reply.

I want to opt 'International Relations' from group-1. The problem is that I have no background knowledge of this subject but this subject interests me and the other reason is that it also helps in preparation of essay, current affairs, pakistan affairs. As I am left with two chances, CE-16 & CE-17.

What do you people suggest? Please give an honest advice.

i also had no knowledge of this subject before. I have also opted this subject. As I have started to prepare IR, it is quite interesting. I think you should go for it :)

As per my knowledge this subject required analytical thinking and logical reasoning. If you are good in arguments, debates then this subject is for you. It will definitely help you in current affairs and in essay. My advice to you is first listen few virtual university lectures of IR then decide.

Well my personal experience with this subject has remained good one. In my first attempt, I got 71 while 62 in the second. Now for the final attempt the result itself would speak. I have found this subject very interesting and scoring at the same time. I didn't have any prior knowledge or background of law but still this subject didn't disappoint me .Another important thing about this subject is that , its MCQs keep on repeating . If one prepares the MCQs from past papers , one has highly brighter prospects of marking more then 15 MCQs correct. Even one may go beyond 18 as has been the case with me in my first attempt. In the light f the above reasons , I would recommend you to opt I. Law. Here on this forum I posted solved MCQs of I. Law since 2000. They may prove instrumental in preparing objective portion . Here is the link for that.

If you have interest in IR and you are satisfied with you ability then go with it, though I find it suitable for those whom had critical analysis built in chip inside their brain. Everyone is in same phase as you are, so trust yourself.

Sorry I took that as I. Law.

First of all I want to say a big big thank to anabiya, Neptune, Sir Tassawur, and lovereflector.

Initially I had a plan to opt Comp.Sci because I studied it in my masters degree but deep inside I had no love left for it when it came to select optional subjects. According to my opinion I don't find any science subject helpful in making you critically, logically, analytically stronger, which are the main abilities one must have in order to successfully get through this whole process of CSS.

My friend convinced me to choose CS and I did it initially because of him but later I started repeatedly thinking about IR because of the outline of the subject. I went through the syllabus of IR and I found it really interesting and appealing because I am kind of a person who loves a subject which requires critical and analytical skills.

After going through your valuable comments I have made up my mind and taken a decision that I would stick to IR no matter what.

And thanks sir Tassawur for sharing your personal experience and thanks all others who took your time out and helped me make decision.

Oopss! Sir Tassawur I have seen your last comment after posting mine.
This one "Sorry I took that as I. Law." :(
Ab kia ho ga ap ney tou IL kay baray mein bataya tha :( aur mein samaj raha tha k IR ka bata rahay hain...

Though I am also taking IL so your opinion is still useful for me.

Keeping in mind all the facts,IR is much better than Computer Sciences. You should stick to your decision. If you do not feel like studying science subjects then do not study them.Follow your heart and fearlessly go for IR because deep in your heart you already know that you want to take it.Hence, don`t waste your time due to fears.Best of Luck for the preparation! :)

@anam akram: Thanks for replying. I have selected IR and it's quite a good subject as per the suggestions I got, which upon studying can polish your critical skills which are needed for an aspirant throughout the journey of CSS.
