This may be only your perception, majority of those, who opted for Pushto, have found their selves on the right side of history. I would suggest you to go for it because it's easy to prepare (with less time consumption). I have shared the most important topics of Pushto on this forum which you can easily find for your upcoming examination.
P.S: My experience ends at CE 2013, so, consult the syllabus first before preparation, cause the syllabus might be changed.
Good luck!

I don't know about pushto but the subjects you chose are same as of mine except the one you are confused about.
Journalism and sociology are opted by every third aspirant so I suggest you to opt psychology because firstly it is not as crowded as Journalism and sociology are. Secondly it is easy subject and can help you fetch good marks, and you may go through past results of this subject to have an idea about the marks trend.

As for as the tips and views of the successful candidates of CSS are concerned, almost every language subject is scoring. It would be better for you to opt pashto or journalism. First priority is pashto. However, final depends upon your taste

The best thing about regional languages is that they almost always yield good marks with less effort, and their syllabus takes less time to cover as compared to other subjects. For example Punjabi has always been scoring, and I have often seen aspirants who passed exam had Punjabi in their list on forum, and some had even Arabic. All I want to say is that it solely depends on your interest.
