Default Subject composition for first timer

AoA everyone, I have completed my Engineering from Ghulam Ishq Khan Institute and I want to try CSS for the first time.

I want to opt these subjects:
1: International Relations
2: European History
3: Gender Studies
4: International Law
5: Sociology

I'm not currently in Pakistan and I might have to do most of my studies outside Pakistan. So I wanted to know if it is a good combo of subjects or not?

I also wanted to know what should be the study plan I should follow if someone could kindly help me on that? Which subjects should I prepare first? How much time should I spend on each subjects? I would really appreciate your help.

W.salaam,
Us history is a preferable match with IR and I.law. moreover, it has shorter syllabus than European history.

It's just my observation. If you are interested in European history then you can go with it.

Regards

European history has been a graveyard for aspirants since the beginning of time.

If you value your chances of landing in DMG, Police or Customs, then DO NOT pick this subject.

From the trends I've checked, the highest scoring history subjects since 2010 would be:

1. Islamic history
2. British history
3. American history
4. Indo-Pak history
5. European history.

I didn't know this and I picked European history just because I was generally more interested in it.

Do you think I have better chances of scoring good marks in American history?

And how should I study? Which subjects should I study later and which should I start preparing now? I have been studying current and Pakistan affairs for quite some time now and wanted to know about other subjects.

Yes, American history is a safer option.

As for preparation, visit the "Arena for golden tips" section of this forum. Many CSP's have shared their strategies on how to prepare.

Brother, should I still go for American History even though I am more interested in and have some prior knowledge about European History?

It is a comparatively safer option and it also overlaps with IR.

But, of course it's your choice
