Default Philosophy????

What kind of subject Philosophy is? Is it scoring? Technical, tough or dry? Interesting? How much days it takes to cover its syllabus? Is it basics of Philosophy or quite beyond that?

And if anyone has notes of philosophy in soft copy then kindly give me, I want to read before taking up this subject!
