Its better if you do some technical degree or a business and finance related degree instead of IR or pol science. There is always option to do IR or Pol science latter on during preparation. Having a professional degree will off-set the huge risk that comes with CSS. However, if i had to choose between IR and Pol science, I would go for Pol science. Pol science offer greater opportunities in Pakistan as compared to IR.

You already got a technical degree in which don't have interest. If you want to go for an arts degree, in terms of utility for CSS as well as future scope I would rank them as following.
1. MA English
2. MA Pakistan studies
3. MA Political science
4. MA IR

In CSS, the most difficult task is to pass compulsory subjects like essay and precis. So, if you have the option to go for MA English, go for it. Otherwise you can decide according to the ranking or your own preference.
