Public admin, gender atudies and I.law is ok, but usually aspirant prefer i.law with I.R, and in historical subjects, US history is most recommended than others.
Cannot comment about geology but yes Statistics is the one usually not liked by many students due to its low scoring trend.

This is just my opinion and you can dig out the detail of subjects by going through past papers and syllabus.

Dear brother, I would strongly suggest that do not opt geology. It is a disaster for CSS.

I would recommend you to avoid opting Statistics and geology. History subjects are all easy you can choose the one you find most interesting. In my opinion, Muslim Law is a better choice than I.Law if you are not opting IR.

Why are you applying for CSS if you are Petroleum engineer? Why to go for 50k job leaving job that can give you3-7 lakh /month job.
However, these are the commonly opted subjects

International Relations, Criminology, US History, International Law, Anthropology, Psychology, Gender Studies, Environmental Sciences, Public Administration, Punjabi and regional languages

Moreover, never opt Town Planning

thanks
