Nice selection. You have selected same subjects as I have(except Geology and Town Planning).Think twice before you go for T.P.,as I have seen some dmcs of 2016 aspirants in which the only reason for not clinching the top 10 positions was their failure to pass Town Planning.
Furthermore,IR is not a bad choice,as we are not left with much options. It will also help you in CA,IL and the mighty essay;however, keep in mind that every year, thousands of aspirants select IR as one of their optional subject which makes it very much vulnerable for harsh checking(same has happened this year). You have to prepare all the lengths and breadths of this subject and perform extra ordinary in paper in order to score good.Wish you best of luck for your future endevours.

I don't believe in "scoring/non scoring" trend.Just select the subjects based upon your own aptitude and interest.Select the subjects that you find interesting to study ,and that don't make you feel exhausted.Study in detail the syllabi of both the subjects, and then make a selection.

Do you think Environmental Sciences would fare better than Gender Studies next year since it was butchered this time?

Do not worry about the trend. Just do the one you want to.

You can happily follow the trend if you want but only if you are sure that the trend will result in an improved score next year. No one knows that. People will tell you what happened last year and project scores for next year from that pattern but they won't give you a guarantee. Trend exists, but you don't know what's coming so go with your strengths.

Thank you for your response. Would you recommend Sociology over Geology? I’ve heard Syllabus for Geology is too long to be covered in short time span!

I found Geology syllabus much longer and uninteresting compared to Sociology.
