Whether a subject is scoring or not depends on the phase a particular subject is going through. For example till 2007 History of India and Pakistan was considered a relatively scoring subject where scores like 135-150 were common ( at least in 2007 ) exam. But in css 2008 this scenario changed and the average score came down to 80-85 .
But then there are some ever green scoring subjects like Geography, Statistics, Physics, Mercantile Law etc. One thing is to be remembered and that is " more often then not one would score higher in the subject over which one has command and has mastered it well".. So remember this and rest will become easier for you.
Now lets come to the subjects you have selected:
Zoology:
As it is a science subject, i guess it has always been a subject more scoring than arts. But in css 2008 i have heard that this subject has not proven as fruitful as it used to be. Two of our respected members and csp's at this forum had this subject (AFRMS & AJ KHAN ) and have scored in the region of 125-130.
Political science:
An ever green choice of candidates with Arts background or the one's who have no other option . The subject has been consistent enough to be selected with the normal range of marks being 110-120. But scores higher than these have been heard. A failed candidate scored 157 in this subject in 2007 but failed to match up the performance in 2008. Further more Miss Sarah Rashid 3rd position holder in 2005 ( or was it 2006 ) also scored 157 in this subject. Therefore i would suggest that it is a relatively safe and scoring subject, provided it is not taken lightly and be prepared as a 200 marks subject deserves to be prepared.
International Relations:
Well, this subject used to be a scoring subject and till 2003/2004 scores in the range of 80's were heard that after that i have not heard anyone crossing 70 in this subject and these days common scoring range is somewhere between 50-60. Mr. Arif Rao a member here and a csp has scored 60 in this subject may be he can provide you some tips regarding this subject .
Public Administration:
This subject, i have heard is easy but lengthy and cannot be comprehended if one does not have the passion and interest for the subject. But if you have some inclination towards this subject go for it, as it is easy straightforward and rewarding. Css topper in 2007 Mr. Rizwan scored 78 in this subject. I am not saying that everyone can score 78 in the subject but certainly scores in the range 60-70 are common.

B) how much time each of above subjects requires for css preparation?
|
This my friend varies from one individual to another. For those who have strong background in their optional subjects and have sound academic background even 3-4 months are enough for other it may take a year or more. But the most important aspect of this is the time one can manage for one's preparation. The more time you can allot to your preparation the sooner you'll end up/

C) kindly also suggest good books for above subjects?
|
Kindly visit the link below, you'll find many books there.

Best of Luck
Regards

@DarkTangent.
Combination of your subjects is good, but one thing i would like to say that you will think "How to Prepare? which Tpoics of the Subject Read" for the answers you will have to go through past papers of the every subject,atlest 7-10 years , write down those questions which have bn repeated.having read the papers you easily can make your mind about the subjects.
@fromQAU
if U have prepares a Soft-Copy of the Notes then you should post the material at this forum.

dear you should opt it as we are kind of same league members i would recommend you to opt accounting the only you have to work on is taxation in pakistan other than this you know every thing like financial accounting costing business organization auditing you have knowledge oh these subjects usually seniors says no to accounting because members who wanted to opt it either are novice for the subject or under-mature to handle the subject otherwise it is scoring if still don't want to opt it then options are many ,
plus you should opt british history of 200 marks
journalism , sociology , forestry , british history , business administration, public administration , islamic history , muslim law , psychology , arabic , urdu , and regional languages are on peak ragarding scoring trend you can choose any of them but according to the restrictions of groups
from the above stated subjects journalism of 100, sociology of 100 , public administration of 100 are general and not too lengthy plus british history of 200 ,punjabi of 100, muslim law of 100, psychology of 200 , arabic of 200 are mediocre keeping their total marks and length but are scoring . Lastly,urdu of 200 is lengthy but scoring same is the case with accounting and auditing of 200 stay blessed

if you are going to appear in 2013 then go woth familiar subjects like accounting and auditing or if not then business administration , merchantile law
and for the remaining 300 if chose b.ad and for 400 if chose accounting you have options go for general subjects like journalism , sociology , regional languages and even IR because will help in C.A stay blessed
