As for as my information is concernd, British history is scoring as compared to english literature.

U should also request for comments from other seniors.

British history as english literature is very lengthy.

@Misbah

I will suggest you to go for British history as it is very interesting subjects, no matter whether it is lengthy or short, when a subject will be easy and understandable to you then the length will be of no importance if u have ample time.

thanks a lot for guiding me unfortunately i have to opt both of them.i have just seen the rules and Beginners guide.Its not that eng literature is difficult or lenghty its just that examiners become so mean while giving marks so i guess i will have to swallow this as there is no other choice beside opting international relations.

zwan Thursday, December 09, 2010 03:04 PM

I am sure there are more options, can you please kindly share all your optional subjects, and there are very helpful seniors here who will be of help.

@Misbah

Thanks for giving us the exact sense

The subjects of English and English literature are promoting the environment of discouragement among it's students, hardly 4 5 students out of 100 can get through in Ist division in their Master programme of English.i will suggest you to opt for sociology and Muslim law instead of IR as these both subjects are scoring.

thx a lot for helping me out
@zwan my optionals are british history journalism sociology and eng literature i guess if i have to drop eng lit i will have to choose any 2 other subjects lets say international relations or Muslim law.well i haven't studied these subjects at any level i was a science student in o levels and A levels and in my BA i had opted journalism eng lit and persian currently im doing my MA in eng lit.International relations is an easy option but i know nothing abt muslim law so what should i do all your suggestions mean a lot to me
@Nationlover786 You are right i just did my part 1 and am so amazed at the result. 1st division in eng lit in annual system through PU is impossible Other universities like sarghoda etc are giving 1st div but in PU they stick you to the 2nd no matter how much you work hard. In our class only 4 girls are total pass rest of them are appearing in supplementary I got 60 marks in prose but in others they have given me 49 48 or 52 all my interest in eng has just blown away

[B][I]I have British history as my subject and I have found it interesting as well as scoring. The better thing about it is , its syllabus is not lengthy and can be covered in reltively much shorter time as compared to Eng. Literaure.
Besides, Eng. Lit is not scoring either.
As I have my Masters in English Literature , I also went through the syllabus of English Literatur. But it could not convince me to go for it.
So keeping in view my personal experience,
I would rather suggest you to opt for British History.
