Salam Everyone.

I have already opted for:
US history(100)
Applied Maths(100)
Pure Maths(100)

International Relations(200)?
The syllabus has increased since it was originally a 100 marks subject. Is it true that this subject helps in compulsory subjects?

International Law, Criminology or Mercantile Law(100)?
All seem interesting, but I have no law or business background. Would it be fine to start mercantile law without any background?

Since we can now choose both International Law and International Relations together, will it be a good idea to go for this combination?

Together with that I'm going to take Journalism nd mass com because except for 2-4 chapters, the syllabus is easy. So,
IR, Journalism, Zoology, Criminology, and History of Pak ll make my optionals.
Thanks a lot for ur analysis, it strengthened my decision. :-)
I also have selected IR, Indo-Pak history and journalism. And I see that you have opted for criminology instead of I.law. How would it be if we do not opt for I.law with IR? There are those who say that IR and I.law overlap say about 30%. I don't feel like that. What's your take? will we lose an advantage by not choosing I.law with IR? I too am inclined towards criminology.

Dr. Sultan Khan's book for public ad is wonderful, it would cover topics wholly. Besides that, its refers to Pakistan especially.

Brother, I visited KIPS last month and had a comprehensive discussion there with a teacher. He logically convinced me that choosing criminology or I.Law together with science subjects or supplemented history would eat all my time, concentration and retention power. Time is more crucial, so I should opt for those subjects that require lesser retention and syllabus.
Currently I'm doing Pharm.D nd it too takes lot of time, so I'm moving against tides. So I have now chosen Gender Studies, I.R, U.S history, Town planning..., and Muslim law.
I knw, I may appear the most uncertainty nd variable person at this thread but I had to evolve with a solution and this is my final selection.
Now, as far as ur I.Law is concerned, I would like to apprise you of the fact that Muslim law is the easiest Law group subject, it has lesser syllabus, and overlaps with Islamic studies. It ll take less time and effort as compared to I.Law tht'll ask for greater retention, research and time. If u have to opt fr law, consider Muslim law. Best of luck for your attempt. :-)

I actually don't how did he convince you but you mentioned you are a regular student so you must be going for something relatively shorter, and you are less concerned about your interests and aptitude. It does make sense to me too. But I am not a regular student these days, I have completed engg. And I believe I should consider my aptitude and interests along with volume of syllabus. Knowing my case, will you also suggest me to change my subjects like you or should go with my aptitude?

I think tht the syllabus is now mammoth and it requires extra efforts in every subject. Lesser syllabus of optional subjects can provide you with bonus time to prepare compulsory subjects where rate of failure has been high. I have an aptitude of science subjects, ndzoology and psychology ll be easy me to prepare but immense syllabus bars me from opting these. If u r tht free, you should strengthen your compulsory subjects frst. and another reason fr choosing these shorter subjects is tht they are easily comprehensible, and do not require in depth aptitude, plus these gives a person an edge of self writing over science and I.Law tht ll require accurate answer and cramming.
Its wht I think, your thinking may vary... :-)
