Unfortunately, CSS exam is all about your analytical skills where you have to opt more generalistic approach. you don't need any technical knowledge neither mere objective knowledge. you need to have an ability to mould the available facts in your favour to prove your point of argument at least for the paper of Essay. Secondly, your writing skills and language expression must be up to the mark, and there is no exception to that. Lastly, you need to have luck on your side as well to get you through this exam, keeping in mind that enormous amount of hard work and motivation(could be anything) are your basic tools.

The first rule to success, is to clear your doubts about yourself. CSS is an avalanche test. It tests your strategy as well as your physical limits to with-stand the avalanche fall. Now coming to your case ...
- Cramming will ruin your mental capacities, the new syllabus is designed to discourage crammers. Much of the subject pairs are theory based promoting 'out of the box' thinking and extracting.
- English must be top-notch, try giving TOEFL/IELTS examination to test where you stand. Always improve and polish by reading/listening, you got podcasts, novels, a plethora of resources.

Lastly, AhmedKhattak hit the nail on the head - LUCK, luck + hard work will win you this marathon.

Good Luck!

Analytical skills are simply making mountain out of a grain of sand to weigh your arguments. There is no right or wrong when it comes to subjective nature of any topic. For instance, Socialism, Capitalism, Communism, Feminism and so on are subjective in nature. No ism is right or wrong, your analytical skills would determine how you mould the given data to give more weight to your arguments. You need to develop the skills of presenting daily events while wearing some sort of ism glasses or cause and effect glasses. if you were to be asked to speak on economy, alongside with presenting objective data, you would argue that why our economy is at the verge of collapse and what measures are needed to be taken to put the economy on the right direction. you can bring in as much data as you can and quote some events from history and opinions of people who are considered authority over that particular subject.
