Default Optional Subjects- Your Thoughts

Hello all! I wanted to get your thoughts on the optional subjects I have picked. Keep in mind that this will be my first attempt at giving the CSS exams. I have a business background. Here's the list:

International Relations (200)
Business Administration (100)
History of Pak & Ind (100)
Criminology (100)
Sociology (100)

I'd love to get your comments on these choices; keeping trends in mind. Thank you.

Good combo.

Without keeping trends in mind. And if you really want to do it by keeping trends in mind then it will be difficult really. You will end up getting some subject which you don't like or maybe you will select a subject which you will be thinking is safe. And then if there is any trend and it changes. If they target some other subject that you considered to be safe. Then, things will be difficult.
So , at the end, it depends on you and your hard work. As they say luck favours the brave and hard work never gets wasted. Best of luck.

Appreciate the response. You raise some good points. One of the reasons I chose this combo is because the subjects interest me. I suppose one should stick with what may be enjoyable to study as well.

Like you said, it depends on the work I put in now. Thanks again.

It would be my first attempt, too. My background is education and I have chosen following subjects:

1. Political Science
2. Public administration
3. History of Pakistan & India
4. Gender Studies
5. Psychology

You are going for B.Admin so if you are comfortable with Finance, take Accounting. It’s not only much more scoring than IR but there is a fair bit of overlap between Accounting and B.Ad. To be specific, there are at least 2 questions related to finance in B.Ad and there are 2 such questions in Accounting as well. Topics like ratios and NPV etc.
