Unhappy Why did indo pak history remain so low scoring?

Hello
History of India and pakistan remained the most low scoring subject in 2010 exam. The guys who scored 140+ remained hardly around 100 marks. what may be the reason? what is your insight.. Is it the part of fpsc policy to favour some subjects and penalize other subjects? After all there is something what they call scoring trend...

regards
Rizwan

Whenever we study reports of FPSC they mentions almost for every subject that candidates lack study in depth and standard books. They also point out that to the point question is not usually attempted which shows poor standard of education. Whereas, on the other hand, when we see scoring trends of FPSC, there is major difference in evaluation system. Marking criteria is unsure and it is also unknown on which grounds they give marks to candidates.

Some candidates get the place in top 20 whereas a person having outstanding score in compulsory gets very low and unexpected score in optional subjects due to the poor scoring criteria. History subjects except US History were major victims of poor score. To me there is blind policy of scoring the papers nothing pre-planned and no well defined procedure is adopted to evaluate performance of candidates specially in case of optional subjects.

Default @rizwan...

I think this is because of the following reasons:

Majority of the candidates follow the same material in preparing this subject and the examiner might be looking for something new and different which they rarely find.
Candidates have witnessed dynamism in indo-pak paper and now majority of the questions are analytical type. If you compare 2010 paper with the previous papers you will find the crystal clear difference.
Candidates normally lack the skills to present their views in an impressive and unique way which could bring high score for them…

Regards…..

Its not FPSC policy, it just depends on paper checker. One of my teachers, a legend of Macro Economics & Monetary Economics, used to be paper checker for CSS. During his checking marking was good. When he left the marking became very strict. So i don't think its pre-planned by FPSC
