Exclamation Sharing my experience of CE18

Asalam o Alaikum respected members, I gave CE for the first time in 2018. The experience was quite overwhelming. Thanks to the parliamentarians the pressure on FPSC worked and they changed the way the papers were held. Complulsory papers were held each daily, that was a great relieve in my opinion.

Secondly; the optional papers were held as two in a single day, as my optionals were International Relations, History of USA, Criminology, Sociology and Public Administration. IR was conducted in a single day, then History of USA and Sociology was also conducted in a single day. Criminology and Public Administration were each held on separate days. These two were not conducted on the same day and there was no other paper on that day as well.

Now my observation from giving the exams was that almost all papers with the exception of General Science and Ability had questions from our daily lives i.e Political, current affairs type and policies which shape our life. I started preparation in August 2017 and spent two months at KIPS Karachi which were enough for me to have guidance the carried on, preparing on my own, I have given around 16~18 Hours maybe more than this per day. Started to study from early morning after Fajar prayers and some exercise, I don't have a job so gave all of my energies to this.

I bought separate registers for each subject and worked, on each subject but was unable to complete Public Administration and International Relations I have their basic gist but I was not able to complete their syllabus. The time of around 5 months was less for me.

Now coming to the papers, the paper of Islamiat in my opinion was tough. Rest all of the papers were relatively easy as compared to the past. I am hoping to secure good marks. But also going to start preparation again to save my time. My self analysis are that the answers I gave almost lacked quotations and had headings but not numerous headings, The answers which I gave were relevant but not colorful in the sense that they had did not have numerous headings and quotations. I think this will give me tough time.

I have graduated in 2016 with a degree in Electronic Engineering with a CGPA of 3.06/4. Have given quite a lot of tests for various relevant fields. Have given ISSB too. So any one applying for ISSB and Engineering jobs can ask me questions. I would try my best to reply.

Purpose of writing this was to share my two cents, many great people are here on this forum, I am a small shining star in this milkyway. My advice/message to all my fellows is to try, try and try never give-up due to temporary defeats always target what you want to achieve and how you can do it. I am also trying since my Intermediate (FSc.) starting from Pakistan Army. And still doing so. Please never be discouraged and refrain from people who possess negative thoughts and are jealous from you or try to bring you down by saying mean things to you directly or indirectly, just cancel/block these people from your life.

love of my life are my parents and my brother, my wish is to become a person who can bring a positive change in the lives of the people around me, my community and country.

Thanks for reading this.

Respected sister, I do not know about International Law have not read its syllabus. Criminology I would suggest due to its easy topics and small syllabus. Criminology is an easy subject the topics are easy to grasp and many concepts studied in Sociology are same in Criminology. Hope this would help you. Rest choice is yours read the syllabus of every subject and analyse it on your own. Judge yourself.

Encouraging result. Keep doing efforts. You have pretty good score in current affairs and public administration. Can you please share your books, resources and material which was used in preparation?

coming from engineering background (I assume) and choosing additionals like Sociology and criminology, was it hard for you to prepare these subjects from scratch?

do you think you would have done better by choosing subject like maths or physics instead?

how have you prepared for css during your engineering and intermediate?

Thanks, your story is truly inspiring!
