English: Barron's GRE 3500
GSA, CA, PA: Chaudhary Najeeb's book and current updates
Islamiat: MCQs book published by Caravan
For optional subjects: Study syllabus thoroughly and purchase MCQs books available in the market. Hopefully, your correct MCQs in the exam will be more than 15.

At the time of my first attempt of css I was provided guidance by my seniors that instead of wasting time on separate preparation of MCQs , one need to focus on the conceptual and thorough study of the texts and one is able to score closer to 15 marks out of 20. I followed this method , but it didn't prove instrumental in getting me any closer to 15 marks.

In my next attempt besides having prepared the texts at length , I demonstrated a sort of obsession towards preparing MCQs. I did the following things in this regard.
First of all I solved past 15 years papers objective. Not only i solved for myself but I shared those solved MCQs on this august forum also. For Instance http://www.cssforum.com.pk/css-optio...00-2011-a.html
Secondly, I obtained minimum two and three MCQs books of all the subjects and went through them.
These two activities really proved highly instrumental in making me able to obtain 15 marks at an average . At that time the EDS consisted of 50 marks MCQs and I was able to obtain 40 marks. This obsession with MCQs and this method really helped me.

The best thing which I felt about having grip on MCQs is that they provide you a morale booster . When you are sitting in the paper and that too in the paper of CSS, your anxiety level is high. When the paper starts and the objective portion comes in front of you and you see you know minimum 15/20 MCQs , all the anxiety vanishes and your confidence is sky high. Thats why spending time on MCQs is worth investing .

Yes, for the pre-partition period of PA and GSA, this book is enough. But for recent developments, you have to stay updated.
General Knowledge by Caravan Publishers.

If you have prepared your syllabus well, you can easily solve more than 15 MCQs. I bought ILMI's book because JWT was not available in the market. Along with these books, you must solve past paper MCQs.
