Starting early for CSS

Hi members of CSS forums and future bureaucrats. My name is Muddassar Khan and I’m doing my MBBS from Peshawar. I’ve been a reader of CSS forums since I was doing my FSc a couple of years ago but I never really posted nor did I have an account on the forum.
Today I decided to make this account and ask the members a question which has been on my mind for years now and as the possibility of preparing and applying draws closer I’m really curious for the answer.
We constantly hear people talking about how good your "written expression" should be and how good your "vocabulary" needs to be etc. but I believe it requires a slow and steady development of a certain set of skills. Now, I do know that it needs those skills but I cant wrap my mind around the skills I need.
I have a few years till I’ll appear in the test but I need advice on what I should read, write and how should I change the way I think to be a successful officer.
I’ve read the beginners guide and the different subject analysis but the question still remains the same. Where do I start? I don't want to cram things in a year or 6 months just to pass the exam. I want it to change me as a persona and engrain it in myself as a person.
I don't just want information, I want knowledge as I do have time and I want to make the effort to make it perfect.
I need guidance and any guidance would be appreciated.
I hope this post in answered in an elaborative way because I’m planning of making a video on the matter to help other people, a very elaborative and detailed video.
:))
