Since you haven’t mentioned your background and from which university you want to study, I would say computer engineering. Within the field, it may be worthwhile to focus on Data Science.

Having said that, your supervisor’s research determines what you end up working on.

Hey Obaid,
Since I have read your replies in the science group section, I feel you can be of good help to me as I have opted Applied Mathematics and Statistics.
I want to ask questions regarding the syllabus. So let me ask them straight away.
Are geometric, Negative Binomial, Exponential and Uniform distributions included, as they haven't been mentioned in the syllabus?. And Index Numbers?
Also, I had studied R.L Burden's Numerical Analysis in my graduation, however, It is actually a little difficult to comprehend, which I am realizing now. Therefore, kindly recommend me a good NA Book.
Also, can I get your email ?

Hi.

I adopted a high risk strategy which has been my practice throughout my studies. This strategy worked for me sometimes and sometimes it backfired. How much risk appetite one has varies. My strategy was to do selective study wherein I would prepare really well some sections and completely ignore other sections.

Moving to the specifics:
1) these topics on statistics are included. I, however, skipped them. Maybe reviewed some mcqs.

2) for numerical methods, as in your case, I could not find any suitable textbook. So I searched the relevant method on the internet and developed my own summary of the method. e.g for the Simpson’s method I made a half page step by step summary etc.

3) I don’t want to say no but kindly excuse me.

Thankyou for the reply man. I actually asked for your email because there are very less people, as you know, who opt these subjects which in turn makes it difficult for you to clear your doubts regarding these subjects, because of the lack of guidance, but thats okay, I guess.
I want to know that you scored very well in both the subjects, however, you are also claiming to not have covered the complete syllabus. How did that work? Is it a risky thing or can all the questions be attempted if you do study selectively. Which topics did you leave untouched in Maths and Stats?
