How do I start making notes for a topic?

Aoa. I have started my preparation for CSS 2022 by joining NOVA academy here in Islamabad. What I'm really confused about is that how do I start with making the notes? Like yesterday in Pakistan affairs we started the topic democracy in Pakistan. It's such an extensive topic I don't know where to start and which resources to consult.

Like what is democracy, why democracy and how can be improved etc.

You can add points regarding history of democracy in Pakistan and their phases.

Hopes, hurdles and future of democracy in Pakistan.

Make notes according to examiner point of view, how he will ask questions. Don't just write everything related or irrelevant. Focus on questions.

So ,you are telling him to make long notes and already he is tired of this thing.

To main post, well brother, just remember this thing in mind that notes-mostly they are to revise things at very last moment. Be it before exams. Most of the times last day. So at that time you will not be able to revise 100 pages. If you keep this thing in mind then it will be easy to make short notes. Just headings and main pointers. Try to write concisely as they are just to revise on that exam day.

For example if you are reading lots of research papers , or maybe books. Then name of research paper and its main idea. That's enough. Main idea means 2,3 main points in that paper, but you will have to write then in points , in 2,3 lines.
