Flowcharting

Flowcharting is a tool for analysing processes. It allows you to break any process down into individual events or activities and to display these in shorthand form showing the logical relationships between them. Constructing flowcharts promotes better understanding of processes or events.
There are no hard and fast rules for making flow charts but ill give an example for your better understanding. You can then change it according to your subject. You can even draw it in different shapes..

3:Sohail Bhatti
but plz dont rely on them and make ur own good notes. For making notes on Babar I had to read Tuzk-e-Babri too
2:Use quotations of important Historian(you can find quotes even In K Ali)like Elphinstone in your question.
3:In almost every question which I attempted I drew maps of subcontinent and indicated the relevant king's battles on that map.
4.Dont forget to write critical analysis at the end.

It was mentioned on the first page. Go through the thread you'll find some more tips as well

Smile @ Wind

Asalamualikum,

The book 'A New History Of Indo-Pakistan' by Prof. K. Ali should be a good starting point. It has 2 volumes. Volume I covers the era upto 1526 A.D. and Volume 2 is from 1526 to late 1960s.

The book is very basic and has simple English, nothing too complicated. Other than that you can consult S.M.Ikram as I was told it has "good expression for adding value".

And if you have time and interest in the subject you can further read the book by 'Stanleu Lanepoole'(precisely for Sultanate & Mughal Period i.e. 712-1857). Its very good when it comes to writing great expression.

For Paper 2:
  • Struggle for Pakistan by I.H.Qureshi
  • Towards Pakistan by Dr. Waheed
  • Early Phase, Middle Phase and Final Phase of Pakistan by Jamil-ud-din.

Other than these books there are plenty of books by local authors such as Pakistan Affairs by Ikram Rubbani which can help.

For starters though I would recommend go for K.Ali as it has been written especially keeping in mind the CSS syllabus. The rest is up to you. Go to a library and check out all these books. Then buy the ones that you prefer. And best of luck with your preparation !

Wasalaam

p.s. I was given these tips by a CSP who has been teaching Indo-Pak History to CSS aspirants.
