These days css exams are usually held in March. As you want to appear in css 2010, the registration will probably start in December 2009 and end in the 1st week of January 2010.

Best of Luck

some tips for young aspirants

English
Try to improve your vocabalary .Read news papaer write down the word your donont know in a separate register. look out for its meaning and how to use it in various ways by consulting some good dictionary e.g BBC or OXFORD. Once you start building your vocabalary muscles replace common words with these words.

Write down short literary essay on ordinary topics atleast on two topics a week.
key to internalize english is practice and vocabalary

Your subject selection is fine but i am afraid that this combination would not materialize. If you combine the marks of these subjects the total comes out to be 700 marks and one has to opt subjects worth 600 marks.Geography has been amongst the high scoring subjects this year and is high scoring most of the times.Political Science is also a safe subject provided that one can comprehend the Political Philosophy and constitutions. Islamic History is really unpredictable but some do manage to get really good marks in it.Therefore i think that it all depends on how well one has prepared this subject.

Best of Luck

Hello friends

Dear Members,

CSS 2010 has opened the new realms of opportunities for the potential aspirants. As time pass by, more and more people will join in this race; not to mention the individuals who have flunked in achieving their endeavor previously.

I have also decided to be a part of this struggle and put in some efforts, and try my luck. My optional subject list, which is still tentative, includes:

 Indo-Pak History I & II: 100 + 100
 Physics I & II: 100 +100
 Constitutional Law: 100
 Public Administration: 100 :?

I am an Engineer by profession and consider myself to be mediocre in English language (so drafting of hundreds of emails have finally paid off :vic). I find myself to be comfortable with physics :vic and Indo-Pak history. I am new to C.L and P.A; therefore have my reservations with public administration. I work half a month (well that’s the nature of my job :evil) and have half a month totally at my leisure. I intend to utilize this time for my preparations while also taking out some time from work for preparation.

If anyone has had such a combination previously then do share your experiences with me and if you are planning to have this combination then perhaps we could help each other. The purpose is to study in an organized and fruitful way.

Cheers~:8:

The best way to prepare is to make your own notes and after making your notes reduce them to points notes so that u get through one subject in an hour which is the time between the 2 papers and it will help you people alot during the exam study as the timetable is very hectic .You must prepare yourself in a way to cope the tough routine of papers without holidays.....Moreover what do i say is that the compulsory papers are all current affairs so if u have good knowledge of current affairs u can easily attempt all of six papers ..............and dont waste your time while reading whole of newspaper but u should read opinion and editorial of dawn ....this was the experience which i got as i took the CSS 2009 Exam tc

hi striver how do u do i took constitutional law and my experience is that its a risky subject but an interesting one..i am saying it risky as i prepared all 6 constitutions and hardly i was able to attempt whole paper i.e i was left with no choice of attempting more than 4 questions even i only knew 4 among 7.... indopak is good but little bit lengthy .
