Well, I don't have any strategies as such... all I can say is to have faith in yourself and your creator. Following are a few tips that may be helpful:

1. Read newspaper daily... keep cutting of important news articles, so that it's handy when you need to revise through them. Editorials are must-to-read!

2. Revise all your optional subjects. Just skim through the important stuff; no need to read each and every thing thoroughly.

3. Make sure your spoken English is good.

4. Be confident when you walk inside the interview room... show no signs of nervousness and keep your hopes high.

Hope that helped.

Good! Psychology is more scoring. My score in Psychology was 145. Shehrbano is OK for MCQs... but not really for the subjective part of the papers.

I used King/Morgans book... try to get hold of that. It's a complete book, in every sense of the word. Please update your profile with your mail ID and I shall contact you there. Thanks!

Yup! MCQs need to be taken very seriously... try to get hold of MCQ books in the market or find some on the internet - maybe here on the forum! Give at least 1-2 hours daily to the preparation of MCQs. Good luck!

As you are from KPK, i want to ask you that is it true that competition in KPK is less as compared to punjab? can we get any privilege in allocation?
Not really! True that competition in Punjab is very tough, but then they get almost 50% of the seat quota as well... in the same way, we have 11% of the seats reserved for KPK and there are many who are unable to get allocated. So, you cannot really put it that way. Competition is tough!!! Moreover, if you want to get into your desired group, then you cannot afford to take it lightly just because you are from KPK... This time, there was only one FSP seat for KPK and nil for PCS...so, you automatically come down to groups that may not be among your desired ones. Hence, taking competition seriously is your key to success. Got that???

Thanks!

Like I mentioned in my write-up... I didn't not join any academies or sought help from anyone as such. My only guide was this forum, the internet (various sources - just google whatever you are searching for), and books.

Get 'Introduction to Psychology' by King/Morgan... It should be enough for the preparation of both parts. Good luck!

There is one thing i am confused about. Like you, many other senior suggest of reading the newspapers daily, cut out the informative parts and keep for a revision later. Reading the editorial is OK when it comes to improve or polish the writing technique, but reading newspapers daily for news is something i still dont have made my mind for. If the time for news and cut paste is distributed to other subjects dont you think that would be better? For current affairs, read the books available in the market and remember the statics. You must be knowing better than i do, but this is something i would like you to comment on.

You are right, sweety!

I didn't touch a single newspaper during the preparation of 'written part'... like you said, I banked on 'current affair books'. It's the preparation of 'Interview part' that really requires you to read newspaper daily. And since I had around 4.5 months for that, getting the cuttings and organizing them was not much of a deal for me. To facilitate quick look-ups, I kept them in different folders according to their topics. For instance, I had folders for 'energy crisis', 'Pak-US relations' etc... I would cut the news bits daily (mostly the editorial or letters to the editor parts) and keep them in their distinct folders.

Thanks, dear.

Not 2.5 months.. 2 months and 10 days, precisely

I think anyone can do it... you just need to have faith in yourself!

ROFL!!!

Are you making fun of me? I think I shouldn't have expected more than this, considering my time-frame for the preparation of written part. But, I am glad it gave you and your friend a good laugh

Hahaha!!! Yes thanks for the laughter!!! So in other words, you mean that marking is unfair ? Specially this EDS where you say your 50 MCQs were correct, you mean you got 0 for the rest of the portion? Thats impossible!! So the second thing can be a possibility of miscalculations of marks on the examiners side. What do you say?
