Its so not abt the money! Its abt serving Pakistan and its people.
If he has the passion, ask him to join and if he intends to make big money..beg him not to join.

Please stop this moral lecturing. Everyone should be remunerated according to the job and it is the right of every candidate to know what he or she is going to get paid. That is why Fatima's brother is asking for the salary conditions so that he can make a conscious decision whether to join the civil services or not. For your information, Fatima, I understand that the basic salary of a grade-17 officer is just over Rs. 12000 per month. With allowances it gets just over Rs. 15,000. I understand that all CBR officers (which include customs and income tax officers) are entitled to almost Rs. 15000 special CBR allowance as long as they are working in the CBR. If they go for deputation, they lose this allowance and if they return they again get it. Officers of FSP are paid their salaries in US Dollars when they are on foreign posting and they are entitled to special hardship allowance on various difficult postings like New Delhi or Kabul etc. After every three years of foreign posting, they are supposed to work in Islamabad for 3 yrs and there they receive salary equivalent to any grade-17 officer.

sandhurst very well said . i tell you all my personal experience i worked as permanent government officer in some govt department and after three years i quit my job just because my salary became exhausted in just 20 days and rest of the days i took money from my parents and at that time i led a bachelor life . telling you a truth if you are officer you have to maintain your living standard and if you dont maintain another cuse will start on . in case of csp officer this standard goes more high so please i request all aspirant candidates beside doing hard exercises of studies please try to curb your needs too otherwise bribary has many attracting faces to catch you in time of needs . govt of pakistan give you all authority but dont give you pay . i tell you i had funds of 3 to 4 crores on my disposal and my pay was just under 10000 that time . its a matter of great concern for all of us

Salary is no doubt very important aspect of joining and we must know about the career path and prospects! And when we say to serve the country, we must take good decisions with all the available information! And Besides salary, there must with other facilities like transportation, housing facility, medical facility etc. that when considered shall take you to a different figure (do correct me)!!
Fatima is right to know this before hand because passion goes with your expectations and if things are not known Definitely (but assumed or overlooked), they may at some point of time decline your passion and struggle (I can understand that this is quite debatable).
