Sir what is your opinion about the latest changes in CSS syllabi and scheme of subjects.
I am left with the third and last chance. In the previous two attempts my optionals were
Political Science
Indo-Pak History
Constitutional Law
International Law
And now for my last attempt I am really confused as what to opt because Indo-Pak history is now a hundred marks subject instead of 200.
International law now cannot be opted alongwith constitutional law.

Besides having all that bookish type knowledge and all that notes, books stuff ,one of the most important thing gona be "self-exploring".polishing all ur skills,ur thoughts,ur reasoning and the way how u gona take things and try to negotiate with these things individualy and of course in a broader view.
generaly we can summarize this:
Education + self-exploring.

Mr. Daniyal you mentioned that you read some quality books which helped you in written expression. Can you suggest us some quality books?

Hahah.. I've been asking him for many days. But I don't know why isn't he replying to this query despite the fact he replies to others' threads. Distressing!!

Quality books are those that are beyond your comfort zone. For instance, I would love to read khushwant singh because his writing is very lucid and reader friendly. However, I should not stick to authors and fields of study that are relatively easy to comprehend. I should always try to expand the frontiers of my knowledge. I should read Shakespeare, Milton and Dante in Literature, read Russell, Kant and Nietzsche in philosophy and perhaps dabble into science through exploring the working of Asimov and Hawkings. See, the test of a quality book is that it's beyond your reach. Through your determination you have to unravel the contents in it. Quality books do not have stamp of "Quality books" affixed on their title, it's only through our own limitations and curiosity that we choose books that are beyond us, at least initially.

Farrah, I was working in a bank. Okay, let me share my story. I was working in the treasury of Bank Alfalah as a dealer. I used to make a six figure salary, I drew fourteen salaries along with bonuses running into half a million rupees. At age 26, financially I was very successful. However, my place of posting was in Karachi. All treasuries are in Karachi, since it is the financial hub of Pakistan. I lived there for three years and frankly was a bit homesick. Since, I had achieved the pinnacle of professional excellence, I had to take up something equally good as I wanted to move out of Karachi. I love Karachi but since Lahore is my hometown, I was a bit homesick. So, I resigned from Bank in 2013, just sat through my first attempt in Feb. 2013. I was destined to fail as I did not have even rudimentary knowledge about CSS. I flunked in English Essay and perhaps a couple of other subjects too. I had one last attempt left before turning to 28, I prepared a strategy and cracked CSS. My failure was not due to a half - hearted attempt but rather due to my preoccupation with banking. I am glad, I had the guts to make a decision and then pulling it off. One should be bold and daring in life. We should dictate life and not vice versa.

I didn't mean to let you down.I just wanted to know about the subjects in which you failed. You have shared some extra details anyway I got the answer.Actually aspirants have a common perception that CSPs never fail and they get allocation in their first attempt. There is a category of aspirants who give up CSS after their first failure.See,you are an inspiration for them as you tried again and tried better than before.
