You need 6 to 7 months minimum depending on your hard work and commitment.

Go through course outline of all the subjects. Go through past papers. Choose your optional subjects. Select proper recommended books and above all make a proper time table on daily basis.

You have to read almost 12 subjects so to mention books for every subject is not possible here. You can go through subject section of every subject on this very Forum. Recommended books by FPSC (Federal Public Service Commission) books by other aspirants are mentioned there.

Go through the following links as well.
1. Exclusive posts by CSPs for CSS aspirants
2. Frequently Asked Questions

Please post your query in the most relevant section. This should have been posted here. CSS Competitive Exam. Follow Forum Rules.

Good Luck !
