Dear,

For my command task, I was appointed as Chairman Karachi Development Authority and I had to deal with illegal use/possession of land reserved for public amenities. Parks and other public spaces were being used for commercial purposes and I along with my team had to get this problem corrected.

I can't recall the exact titles of the topics, but they were on the following lines:
- Had Kalabagh Dam been built, it would have avoid massive destruction from floods. (I took the line in support of the topic, whereas all other 7 people went against it)
- The Pakistani society has deteriorated badly and cannot be corrected [I guess . (Again, I went against the topic, whereas all other 7 people supported this line)

I have detailed my interview here at this link: CSS Forums - View Single Post - Share your experience of 2011 interviews.

I am sorry, but it was a year ago, and I don't seem to recall that.

The only reason, I can figure out for my low(est) score in essay, is the structural blunder I committed, which I have explained while giving the detailed mark sheet. Frankly, I don't see any other reason.

Preparation for Current Affairs should be a constant exercise, instead of waiting for some period before the exam. Current Affairs and English are two subjects which should be on your daily timetable throughout the year (or period) you prepare instead of giving them some 30 odd days to prepare. These subjects are best prepared slowly and continuously rather than in short overdozed bursts..

It so happens that you will be part of a group of 7~8 persons appearing for Psychological Assessment on those two days. Each one of you would be given a piece of paper on which your problem will be briefly explained.

After handing over the task sheets, you will all be given around 10 minutes to prepare the task. During this time, you would read the problem, do some brain storming, take notes on the same sheet of paper and prepare your arguments/methodology etc. Once these initial 10 minutes are over, you will all stop writing/preparing for your task. After that one by one everyone would come in front and present the problem, seek advise from other fellows and guide a solution. During each task, rest of the members are supposed to participate, so when your turn comes, the other 7 will participate as your team members in the task by giving suggestions etc.

Thanx a lot for your reply .if one is not going to join any academy ,then he/she can prepare exams after written test /or academy is necessary for group discussion and command task. I want to manage without academy but that would be a risk.kindly suggest ..

Well, ideally speaking, you can prepare for group discussion and command task without joining an academy if you can coordinate some group work with other aspirants at your home or elsewhere. But, since this is usually difficult to coordinate, so Academies offer a good alternative where many aspirants/written-qualifiers gather and you can have a variety of experience with different type of people.

Ali bhai, I have read your posts in different threads and you seem a very humble yet confident person to me. So I was wondering about your interview, and speculating how this strange yet amazing combination of personality traits were perceived by the panel. Will you be kind enough to share a bit of your interview experience. Particular answers that you remember still now?
