Default What Is So Inspiring In Css??? Answers Needed

With The Demise Of Civil-bureaucracy's Power House--- Dmg, The Civil Service In Our Country Has Lost Its Glittering Charm? Absence Of Constitutional Security In Respect Of A Civil Servant (like Judges Have This Provision Of Their Service..... In Fact Until Bhutto's Civil Service Reforms, Civil Servants Had It Too), A Csp Is Left At The Mercy Of Politicians............ Grade-22 Officers Have To Lick The Shoes Of A Illiterate Politician Just To Save His Posting.... The Salary At The Start Is Merely Peanuts.... The Prospect Of Living A Decent Life Is A Sure Dream For A Civil Servant...... Future Education Of The Kids Turns Out To Be A Constant Irritant............ Still Our Youth (specially This Forum Members) Are Keen To Secure A Berth In Css-fartenity............

The Question Is

What Is So Inspiring In Civil Service Despite All This?????

@ F.S.

r u seriously asking dis question or just u wana satisfy urself.
Bcz u hav appeared in CE 2007 and hav got v good marks in some subjects. If u r not sure about future of civil service then y did u work so hard n get these marks.
Or
If u r frustrated by ur results, then my dear its a matter of luck. Its not the end of life and worlds.I f u r determined and have confidence and faith in urself and ALLAH, u should try again.
But fron ur post u look disappointed and frustrated as u should hv asked abt these qs earlier.

Policy making and drafting law is by brilliant bureaucrates. DCO, having more financial powers than DC. In district at least 12 departments are working under DCO. While you cannot imagine the powers of Chief Secretary, provincial Secretaries and Federal Secretaries (GURU's).

What about Tariq Aziz the Princiapal Scretary of General Pervez Musharaf, Mr.President trust on him more than the whole cabinet.
And what about the Constables having the BPS-05, charging batoons on senior Politicians, especially in Current scenario.

I m a doctor but i passed css last year. it was my ambition to be a csp since my childhood.
the simple reason behind this is the service 2 humanity. after becoming a csp, u ve enough powers in ur hands that u alone can bring a change if not on a large scale, even on a smaller scale. there are hundreds of unknown bureaucrats whose services saved thousands of lives.
u look into the duaa of Hazrat Ibrahim (A.s) in which, he says"o God, give me authority......." and even the duaa of our Holy Prophet(PBUH)"........ and make me SULTAN -E- NASEER"
both these r the parts of Holy Verses of HOLY QURAN which clearly show that in the worldly affairs, if u wanna bring a positive change, u MUST have some authority with u. BUT THIS AUTHORITY SHOULD BE USED WITH RESPONSIBILITY AS WE WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE 4 IT ON THE DOOMS DAY.

I think, a doctor serves humanity in a true sense, but the impact of his services can not be generalized. on the other hand, the sevices of the administrators do bring generalized effects on society. e.g, if an ASP keeps law n order intact, all the other professionals will be able 2 perform their duties freely. so the credit of smooth functioning of the society will also go to the ASP. or if a DDO(r), keeps the prices of commodites under control, the life of the general public will become easier. so the credit will go 2 the DDO(r)......and so on.

As far as salary package is concerned, dont look at the cash only, look into the whole package of a csp which inludes 900 free calls/month, luxurious accomodations, servants, vehicles with green plates and free petrol 4 duty, TA,DA , medical facilities, graceful offices with full staff, cash prizes on good performances, membership of clubs at extremely consessional rates, utility bills r also free on some key posts,....... and so on ( all this on the first day of posting in grade 17)

normally people donot know, officers r also given "entertainment allowance" 4 tea etc in the offices and special retairing rooms 2 attend guests
yar aur zindagi mein kia chaheye. u serve humanity with a reasonable life of ur own

Thanks

Hate to burst ur bubble dear...but wat package n privileges r u talking abt??
2 tell u da truth half of my family including my father r in da civil services in da 5 major depts of civil services i.e FSP, PSP, Income Tax, Customs n DMG..so i have seen it all...don't start me on da matter of PSP...oh yes they do have a lot of facilities but i sure wudn't want a life like dat for myself...FSP people gloat on da fact dat they earn more than their peers n r paid in dollars but keep this in mind at they have to spend in dollars as well ...income tax n customs used 2 b quite attractive...but there is nothing left in income tax now..n abt facilities...dear u only get a blue jeep in despicable condition when u reach grade 19...customs is still considered ok but da restructuring goin on in FBR will leave it no better than income tax in a couple of yrs time...n as far as DMG is concerned...honestly this dept has hit rock bottom...their ACRs r written by Nazims...so u seriously think dat they have any powers?? so don't talk abt package n privileges...da only thing left in CSS is da prestige ..nothing else...n for some dats everything they want in life...so i wud suggest only those to join civil services who have a strong financial backbone plus da determination to serve their people n country...coz otherwise dear u guys r just wasting ur time...coz i m telling u for a fact dat CSS cant support a lavish or even comfortable lifestyle n gud education for ur kids...my family is lucky 2 b one of da privileged ones in monetary terms...so we don't have dat problem...but surely da stories i have heard from my uncles n cousins r enuf to put off anyone from joining 'em...

so in my view da only 2 reasons for joining CSS r prestige n 2 satisfy da serving gene...nothing else..but for some dats enuf!

P.S i just wanted to put a few things in ur perspective..and absolutely no offense intended...CSS might not b my cup of tea but its in da blood so i have great respect for da profession

Being a CSP itself has a prestige and it makes your kith and kin feel proud of you, apart from other benefits. Above all is the feeling to serve the nation.
That's all...
